Samenvatting

Investigations were carried out on two road-construction schemes in sierra leone. Two aspects of road building were examined: (1) the spreading and mixing processes in the construction of cement-stabilized road bases, and (2) the compaction of cement-stabilized road bases and natural subgrades. The investigation showed that the results being acheived on these two schemes are similar to those found previously in east africa. In particular the importance of the spreading operation in the construction of stabilized-soil road bases is again apparent. (Author/publisher)
