Samenvatting
Aichi Prefecture highly depends on automobiles for transportation. Therefore its residents suffer from various problems such as frequent traffic accidents. At the same time sophisticated technology is available for use. Taking these things into consideration, the Aichi ITS Council with the cooperation of the public, private sector and academia aims to construct a safe, comfortable and environment-friendly community utilizing ITS. It is considered that ITS will take root in our community on the basis of past achievements, the ITS World Congress 2004 and EXPO 2005. Specific efforts and the actual outcome are described.
