Samenvatting

ITS is expected to be developed and operated over the long term while utilizing a broad range of technologies and associating with a wide range of organizational bodies. Given this situation, various kinds of technologies should be studied in developing the physical architecture, with a variety of criteria to select such technologies. However, despite various criteria for selection of technologies, preparation of potential technologies arrangement is quite important. Specifically, after picking candidates of elemental technologies up for the functions defined in the logical architecture, the preparation follows three steps: (1) to group those elemental technologies under similarity of functionality, (2) to classify such groups further into categories according to where technologies can be in use as a sub-system, and (3) to compare the advantages of each category from the viewpoints of technological feasibility, cost and so on. The resulting study enables objective estimation of technologies establishing the physical architecture based on logical functions. (A*)
