In a project funded by the Swedish National Road Administration (SNRA), the potential effects of the implementation of a number of ITS functions in the Greater Stockholm area have been studied. Two different scenario years have been analysed - 2000 and 2010. The intention behind the scenario for the year 2000 has been to illustrate as realistically as possible the consequences of the plans for the very next years. The scenario 2010 is developed from a more visionary point of view. The aim of this scenario is mainly to illustrate the potential effects of a consistent implementation strategy in the region in the long run. Directly in connection with the project work, the first version of a Swedish "Manual for the assessment of the impacts of ITS systems" has been produced. (A)
