Samenvatting

This research examines the feasibility of the Pocket Loading system (PLS) that was developed as a measure for loading and unloading goods at locations other than roads. This report initially describes that PLS is effective in terms of conservation of the atmospheric environment, alleviation of traffic congestion, and traffic safety. The report then outlines the system used in the social experiments such as the system configuration, the functions, and operation method and summarizes the changes of loading and unloading activities and characteristics of parking duration as a result of the introduction of PLS through the result of the social experiments. The report describes the significance of PLS as an advanced road transport system and the effectiveness of conservation of the atmospheric environment and alleviation of traffic congestion that were validated through the social experiments. This report also summarizes the future objectives to enhance the effects of PLS and proposes the future development method and the necessity for positioning of PLS in the urban transport management system.
