Samenvatting

Male adult drivers, while decelerating on the open highway, were required to make judgements about the speed of the passenger can they were driving after varying amounts of exposure to a constant speed of 35 or 50 mph. The accuracy and consistency of the judgements and the influence of varying amounts of exposure on these speed judgements (speed adaptation) were studied. Such speed judgements were found to be quite reliable and apparently independent of speed adaptation.
