The theoretical foundations of some route choice models are discussed. The ''multiple routeing procedure'' can be regarded as an algorithmic procedure of solving the probit model. An inconsistency between model and algorithm is pointed out. A similar model, the logit model, is dealt with next. Two methods of route evaluation are considered. It is very easy to incorporate several route choice variables into the logit model and the model can be used to analyse and to predict either individual or aggregated route choice. Some aspects of the computer programs are described.
