This report is an account of an investigation into the sources of information used by the various partners of the Provincial Committee for Road Safety (POV) of South Holland: the municipalities, district water boards, the province, the Department of Public Works, road safety organisations, and the police. The investigation listed what information these regional partners have available to them, what information they use, and what information they still need for conducting their tasks related to road safety. The regional partners were involved in the investigation by means of a survey. In this survey it was asked if the respondents had certain information available in the form of figures, policy plans, research reports, and reference works. The answers given to these questions were discussed in workshops. At these workshops the partners also provided their ideas concerning the future of road safety. Based on the list of needs regarding information and support, a set of recommendations was formulated for activities that the POV of South Holland can take on to support the region, for instance: (1) Co-ordinating the exchange of information within the province by means of an `Infopunt', a search system on the Internet, and newsletters; and (2) defining focus points for the POV's efforts.
