Samenvatting
This cover note gives an account of the TNO Institute for Perception (IZF) report `An evaluation of "blinking yellow" on pedestrian crossings' (see B 31725 (IRRD 842661). Also three questions are answered: (1) Where, and under which circumstances, can or should "blinking yellow" be used; (2) Under which conditions should the customary traffic lights be used; and (3) When should "blinking yellow" be avoided ? Other aspects of pedestrian crossings facilities and research into this topic (such as red light negation and imitation behaviour) are discussed.
