Samenvatting
Visual acuity as it is usually determined at medical examinations is affected with a needlessly large inaccuracy, due to the lack of quality of current test charts. Efforts are described to improve this situation. This is not only a matter of indicating and applying improvements, but also and especially of breaking through the idea the inaccuracy in the acuity determination is indissolubly bound to the fact that we deal with living matter.
