Budget research has given relevant data to traffic and transport. The budget material consumption data of individual households, as such offers plenty of handles for further research. The progress report recommends eleven further investigations. One of them is an analysis of the adjustments in the expenditure in the period 1978-1982 against the background of stagnating incomes and divergent price developments. The purpose of the travel cost research has been to find out how far the travel-budget approach is applicable to traffic and transport models.
