Samenvatting
A conceptual analysis of pedestrian behaviour to provide a framework for existing research findings and to indicate directions for future research is given. The relevance of perception and decision making to other processes in the pedestrian task is indicated. Six stages in road crossing behaviour are postulated: location, selection, observation, perception, judgement, decision and finally crossing.
