Samenvatting
The effects of the velocity and distance of an oncoming car on decisions by autombile drivers to cross in front of it were examined in a laboratory experiment and in two field studies. Judgements of the risk of crossing in front of the car were also obtained in the laboratory experiment. The results of these tests are presented. Differences in the results supported the view that decision strategies may be task/or procedure specific.
