Samenvatting

This study investigated the effects of the warm mix asphalt additive Sasobit®, asphalt content, and construction temperature on CO2 emissions with laboratory experiments. The isolated effects of Sasobit on CO2 emissions and absorption were also looked at. It was found that temperature is likelythe only meaningfully significant factor on emissions. This would suggestthat Warm Mix Asphalt technology, like the use of Sasobit in asphalt mixtures, is a very effective way of lowering the industry's emission impact, both directly and by the use of less energy for heating. Reductions from both of these sources are estimated at above 30 percent for typically used levels of Sasobit content.
