Samenvatting

Traditionally, first order traffic flow models have been formulated in Eulerian coordinates as a scalar conservation law, namely the LWR model of Lighthill and Whitham (1955). The aim of this study is to go further into the use of the N-function by formulating the LWR model in the transformed coordinate system. These Lagrangian coordinates are fixed to a given fluid particle and move with it in space-time. An analysis of the model is presented and discussed. For the covering abstract see ITRD E144727.
