Les autobus urbains: evaluation de leur conception actuelle et ameliorations possibles.

A summary of experience with the exploitation of bus services in Japanese cities is presented. Medical measurements of drivers have shown that it would be advisable to improve bus characteristics (e.g. comfort, safety and driving aspects) but a change in bus dimensions would not be recommended. The economic life of a diesel engine appears to be 300-400.000 kms.
