Samenvatting
The mobility of elderly persons raises the problem of their safety and of the safety of other road users. After a short reminder on the physiology of ageing and on several demographic perspectives, this presentation touches two main aspects: firstly, vehicle driving, the incidences of elderly drivers' medical conditions and their involvement in accidents, and secondly, the road traumas of elderly persons as pedestrians or vehicle passengers.
