The effect of differently colored light on the visibility of a moving object at low luminance levels was examined. The test method at 2 frequencies of movement at identical luminance levels is described. Tracking errors increase and performance diverge, with increasing frequencies, both with red and blue light as well as with grey density filters. Differences between scotopic and photopic vision may account for this. Earlier results are confirmed that small changes at low luminance levels strongly affects visual performance in case of relative motion between the eye and a display object.
