Samenvatting

The present research evaluated speed characteristics as they related to vertical sight distances on two-lane rural roads. Measures were developed to express the average of drivers' responses along sections with limited sight distances, and models were constructed to link the measured vertical sight distance at six test sites to the appropriate response data. Based on the proposed models, an attempt was made to determine the desired sight distance for a design of vertical curves on two-lane rural roads.
