Samenvatting

The Lions Gate Bridge and the Second Narrows Bridge are the two major links carrying 70,000 and 100,000 vehicles/day respectively across the Burrard Inlet between North Vancouver and Vancouver. The Lions Gate Bridge is now 56 years old and is approaching the end of its physical and functional life. Several improvement alternatives are being studied and tolls are being considered as a means to finance future capital works. The objectives of this study are to analyse the impact on traffic patterns of introducing tolls on the Lions Gate Bridge and the Second Narrows Bridge and to assess the potential toll revenues. (A)
