Traffic behaviour is guided by rational decisions and by habits. Road users choose a particular mode of transport, and on the way, rational decisions also have to be made regularly. For the rest, no further thought has to be given to all sorts of tasks: habits determine a smooth progress. Now and again traffic behaviour becomes more impulsive and aggressive and some people enjoy driving fast, impulsively forget the usual routines, or are worried about vulnerable road users. This report, mainly based on the work of Nico Frijda, presents a framework within which the emotional aspects of traffic behaviour (irritation, anger, and aggression) can be studied. Then an overview of traffic psychological literature about these phenomena is given. This
