Samenvatting

The effect of vehicle weight on dynamic loading and vibrations in road structures is examined for 8 commercial vehicles with gross weight in the range 32 to 44 tons. The dynamic behaviour of individual suspension systems proved to have the most influence on loading and vibrations. The mechanical coupling of some double axled systems gave rise to repeated cycles of loading. This can be controlled by suitable suspension design.
