Samenvatting

Some governments are promoting the use of electric vehicles such as electric scooters to effectively reduce the impact of tourism transport on local environments; however, these vehicles have only a limited distance range, and the establishment of recharging facilities is important in encouraging their use. Given that electric scooters are most commonly used for recreational trips over short distances due to their limited travel range, locating recharging stations is important if their use is to become more widespread. The present study develops a model based on the concept of the location planning of recreation-oriented facilities, with the locations and numbers of recharging stations determined using an integer program, accompanied by a case study for validation. Sensitivity analyses are performed to determine the recharging efficiency of batteries and the facility-locating capacity of each site. The results show that a high level of recharging efficiency or a rapid recharging method for replenishing battery power would significantly reduce the number of required recharge stations.
