Location services will expand the areas of the mobile communication services and improve overall quality of life. Additionally, these services will enrich ITS business areas by sharing common resource of information and supporting the location-related ITS based services. NTT DoCoMo has recently commenced the PHS-based location service named "Ima-Doko Service" and the GPS-based location service named "DoCo-Navi Service". In this paper, the segmentation of location service application complying with the 4 definitions is discussed, and commercial services "Ima-Doko Service" and "DoCo-Navi Service" are introduced.
