Samenvatting

Some of special contributions to traffic signal control being made in London are described. A new signal maintenance contract, a fault reporting system, and computer programs to calculate signal timings help to keep the signals efficient. Traffic in minor roads must not be increased by poor siting of signals, and special detectors are used to give priority to buses, and perhaps to restraint traffic.
