Meeting the extraordinary needs of the next several decades requires a central focus for world efforts to maintain and extend the transportation supporting agriculture, industry and trade. The work of the IRF should now be expanded to include the entire transport system in an international transport federation - a global network of industry and go-vernment agencies dedicated to meeting the total transpor-tation requirements of the globe.
