Samenvatting

The findings of the study lead to two major inferences. First, the lowering of the drinking age has the effect of increasing rates of alcohol-involved collisions among young drivers who became licit drinkers. Second, the lowering of the drinking age has the effect of increasing rates of alcohol-involved collisions among drinkers who remain under the legal drinking age even after it is reduced.
