Samenvatting
Pavement maintenance has become an increasingly important activity and accounts for a large share of road budgets. The alternative policy of delayed maintenance adapted in some countries has, however, proved to be unsatisfactory, because such a strategy often results in very serious disruption to traffic. Future research should continue to be directed towards improving materials and techniques.
