The Cranfield Centre for Logistics and Transport (CCLT) was commissioned to identify means of improving access for people with reduced mobility to railway stations. Leatherhead station was selected for the study because it was judged to be typical of many of the older style stations. Means of achieving full accessibility at this station were identified but the improvements were not achieved because of rail privatisation. This report summarises the improvements and also includes an access audit checklist for use by those with a responsibility for improving access to railway stations. (A)
