Samenvatting
A case history is detailed of a programme of mechanical systems integraty initiated by a major metropolitan transport authority. As with most transport authorities it was heavily subsidised, being unable to fund itself from its own generated revenues. Financial limitations seriously affected operations and maintenance. Four years later the fleet operation improved to the point where only 5% of the 400 buses fell within the "critical" status during any month.
