Samenvatting
Marginality is the central theme of the survey held in September 1984 in five neighbourhoods in Managua (Nicaragua). The survey contents were chosen on the expected importance for planning on the neighbourhood and city level. The consequences for policy are two- fold. Marginality problems need an integral approach; problems have to be defined in a multidimensional way. Moreover, for different areas, different problem definitions are needed. Only for comparable areas the same upgrading can be planned.
