Samenvatting

In France, as far as road building is concerned, there are two important types of techniques: 1) Cold recycling treatment materials with hydraulic binders (usually Portland cement). This is a rigid technique. 2) cold or hot recycling treatment materials with hydrocarboned binders (pure bitument or bitumen in emulsion). This is a flexible technique. A large laboratory study has been implemented by BEUGNET in association with the LCPC (French State Highway Research Center) to determine the mechanical properties of pavement mixtures (stiffness, fatigue life...). The BEUGNET Innovation is to take out both techniques' disadvantages but to keep their advantages: a. A double cold recycling of the materials, recycling of the materials, including vibrated concrete with a hydraulic binder (usually cement) and bitumen in emulsion; and b. The manufacture of a bitument emulsion chemically specific, able to coat up materials that are themselves pre-treated with Portland cement and to "break" at the required time. (A)
