Samenvatting

A detailed computer model of bicycle braking, and the assessment of some 40 new bicycles for potential braking performance using the model, is decried. As braking capability is a primary safety feature and normal conditions can demand at least double the braking forces required to pass the current dynamic test, it is clear that the AS 1927 should be upgraded to ensure that full braking performance is available on all new bicycles.
