Samenvatting
The importance of constraints is emphasized when mathematic programming is applied to strategic land use and transport planning. Whereas most conventional approaches concentrate on the traffic flow implications of the spatial arrangement of land use activities, the authors focus on the role of the dual variables which reflect the constraints to the problem.
