Samenvatting

Estimation of trip tables or other matrices is often a first step in transportation systems analysis, but such estimates are typically uncertain. The various errors which can arise in estimation using the framework provided by constrained, generalized least squares regression are discussed. An advantage of this approach is that error estimates can be calculated.Incremental sampling strategies and the use of different types of information are introduced as means to reduce estimate uncertainty.
