Samenvatting

This paper describes a method for developing instruments for quantitatively measuring subjective judgements about situations of risk in driving.uThe EPRA scale will be presented as an example of an application of this method. This method made it possible to obtain an objective instrument to measure people's ability to perceive the risk in driving settings. This information may be of interest, generally, to researchers who have the need in their work to measure or quantify subjective characteristics and, specifically, to those who are interested in studying the way risk is perceived in the area of traffic accident prevention.
