Samenvatting

This chapter examines five areas of applications of travel-behaviour models and methods, in terms of recent developments and new directions for applications. The five primary areas covered are: (1) Data and survey methodology; (2) Exogenous inputs; (3) Extensions beyond mode choice; (4) Transferability in applications; (5) Non-traditional areas of application. Over the years, the principal applications of travel-behaviour methods have been in urban travel-demand analysis and this continues to be the major area in the early 1990s. However, there are applications being made that enhance areas other than urban travel forecasting and these are touched on in the final section of the paper. (A)
