Measurements and analyses of the fuel consumption of passenger cars.

A study was undertaken with the objective of developing quantitative relationship between the fuel consumption of passenger cars as measured in standard dynamometer tests and the fuel consumption of the same vehicles in typical driving over the road. Transient effects associated with cold starting were intentionally excluded from the study.
