This paper provides the results of a questionnaire administered to general practioners in France regarding their attitude to the effects of medicinal drugs on driving and how this affects their prescribing behaviour. The questionnaire covered a) details about their practice, b) knowledge about drugs, c) sedative effects, d) choice of drugs, e) advice to patients, f) labelling of drugs, g) need for more information and further training. The authors conclude that there is considerable concern amongst general practioners but that this is not being communicated to patients.
