Cirka ein Jahr nach Einführung des Führerscheins auf Probe für Fahranfänger in Österreich zeigt sich im Rahmen einer Meinungsbefragung, dass etwa 90 Prozent sowohl der Repräsentativstichprobe aus der Bevölkerung als auch der speziellen Stichprobe von Führerschein-auf-Probe-Besitzern, in dieser Massnahme eine Möglichkeit zur Senkung des Unfallrisikos junger Fahranfänger sehen. Den Nachschulungskursen für verkehrsauffällige Fahranfänger und der speziellen 0,1-Promilleregelung für Fahranfänger stimmen jeweils um die 80 Prozent zu. Der Bekanntheitsgrad des Führerscheins auf Probe ist jedoch deutlich unterschiedlich zwischen den beiden Stichproben, hier liegt die Gruppe der persönlich Betroffenen eindeutig höher. Insgesamt kann der Führerschein auf Probe etwa ein Jahr nach seiner Einführung in der österreichischen Bevölkerung auf eine ausserordentlich hohe Akzeptanz verweisen. (A) English abstract: Nearly one year after introduction of the "Driver Licence on Probation" a poll shows that approximately 90% of a representative sample as well as 90% of a specific sample consisting of owners of a driver licence on probation think that it is a suitable measure to reduce the accident risk of young driving beginners. About 80% of the interviewed persons agree both with the driver improvement courses for driving beginners committing traffic violations and with the specific 0,01% alcohol limit regulation for driving beginners (the agreement includes the two answer categories "I fully agree" and "I rather agree"). There are only minor variations between the two samples (representative sample and owners of a driver licence on probation). Distinct differences between the two samples were found as far as knowledge about the new driver licence on probation regulation is concerned. Knowledge of those who are directly concerned is much higher. It is noticeable that the majority thinks the driver improvement courses would be carried out by driving schools whereas the Austrian Road Safety Board - the only institution who is authorized to carry out these courses - is hardly known in public.
