Samenvatting
The Moving Observer Method (MOM) makes the calculation possible of the traffic volume and the average journey time using observations made from a moving vehicle. While the MOM is relatively easy to implement, until now it was not possible to get reliable indications concerning the accuracy of the values it produced. This is caused by the stochastic character of traffic flow. With a new developed simulation method, as described here, it can be removed.
