Samenvatting

Estimates for a future year of the number of motor vehicles in individual towns and localities are fundamental for predicting future traffic flows on specific roads. A method of predicting motor vehicle numbers for a large number of locality areas is described. The method used involves first estimating the population of the localities by examining the expected employment potential in each area, and then estimating vehicle per person ratios to determine motor vehicle numbers. A discussion is added.
