Samenvatting

The development of a model for predicting travel time on a freeway during incident conditions is described. The model can also be used to predict speeds, volumes, and other operational measures and was developed for possible use in an operational control strategy using variable message signs to divert motorists to alternate routes when justified. The model can also be used to predict queue backups and delays due to lane closures for scheduled maintenance operations.
