Samenvatting

The objective of this study was to provide a preliminairt set of guidelines based on a consensus of scientific opinion, regarding methodology of experimental research on medicinal drugs affecting driving performance. A questionnaire was designed in the form of an intentionally provocative 'postition paper' proposing a series of methodological guidelines, accompagnied by arguments providing a background. Thirteen propositions referring to various aspects of design, procedures, testing methods, analysis and reporting systems were put forward. Forty-one international experts in the field of drugs and driving research responded to the survey.
