Samenvatting

The purpose of the research was to test a number of techniques for assessing drivers' perception of hazards. The techniques included three types of interview method, the Q- sort method, and several variants of the Repertory grid method. Results indicate that the fixed repertory grid can differentiate between old and young drivers in terms of their perception of specific road hazards. The technique is worth developing as a potentially valuable tool in road accident research.
