This report covers Michigan's 1980 populations of vehicles and drivers of record and the 1979 records of drivers on crashes, violation convictions, and various departmental driver improvement actions. 1979 was the best year for crash avoidance since 1975 and the worst year for violation avoidance since 1973 for all drivers. The population increased by 0, 6 %. The drinking accident drivers went down by 0,8%. The convicted drinking driver population increased by 18,4 %.
