Samenvatting
Planning the new A73 motorway between Venlo and Maasbracht shows clearly the conflict between traffic and the environment. All plans developed by the Ministry of Transport will affect the typical landscape of the Meuse Valley in a negative way. The article gives a clear description of the procedures by which the environmental impact has been appraised, like composite and computer mapping techniques, the analysis and the input of ecological theories.
