Samenvatting

In the trend of ITS development, an MMW (MilliMeter Wave) radar is a promising technology to take an important role in a collision avoidance system. As the key component of a low cost MMW automotive radar, a V-band MMIC (Microwave Monolithic Integrated Circuit) chipset, consisting of a receiver with a 6.5 dB N.F., 2 dB conversion gain and transmitter with 14.3 dB conversion gain and 16 dBm output power, and a 75GHz prototype amplifier with 10.3 dB linear gain and 11.0 dBm output power, have been successfully implemented. These MMICs exhibited high reliability of the MTTF of 4E7 hours at a FET Tch (Channel Temperature) of 130°C by high temperature DC operating test. This result demonstrates high potential of this MMIC technology and promises highly reliable, highly integrated and high cost performance V- and W-band automotive radar systems to be easily realized.
