Samenvatting
During the last years many things are tried to make traffic more safe. The practice showed however that the number of accidents increased with the traffic intensity. If we take the number of accidents as a fact, then we should try to decrease the consequences of these accidents. For this task is the injury prevention science. The first results are positive but still much more can be done. Protection of vehicle occupants in sideways collision by better energy absorbing car doors is one factor.
