Samenvatting
The advice is based on the severe traffic accident in The Netherlands on April 11, 1984 which was mainly caused by heavy fog. A hearing was held on this accident by a special commission of experts. Facts and ideas considered at this hearing; the opinions of the national council on traffic safety and the consequent recommendations for the prevention of fog-accidents in general in order to decrease the severity of accidents are presented. Specifications relating to the particular accident location are also presented. In the accident 140 vehicles were involved, there were 7 fatalities and 25 persons were injured.
